The Truth.

Honesty is a character trait, it's a habit. It isn't too much to ask for or too hard to do. Try it. The next time someone asks you how you are doing, tell them the truth. This doesn't mean you need to break out in song, or tears for that matter, but hey...sometimes you have to start small. The next time your friend asks you if this outfit looks o.k, tell the truth! It is o.k to say, "I like the shirt but the pants don't really work with it." The truth comes out in the end eventually anyway and if you didn't tell it, you're a liar. It doesn't take more than one lie to make you a liar.

Lying, to me.. is intentionally hurting another person, but most of all. Its hurting yourself. I mean what does it say about you, TO YOU...if you lie about who you are, what you stand for... well, what is says to me is; you're lacking. You're without. You're lying because there isn't much you truly ARE that you're proud of, or have to offer.. or at least that is what you think. One lie, one little lie and you're a liar. Now that I know this.. you are dismissed. Carry on....

  1. Truth is mutable. Truth, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. One person may hold truths others see as falsehood; one person may hold truths conflicting with other truths she holds ~ and does this make them all false, or any?

  2. Everything in life is up for interpretation. Perception is 9/10ths of the truth. Though I do hold that there are absolute truths, and absolute lies. Bringing it back to, truth is in the eye of the beholder certainly makes me re-think the specific situation I'm speaking of. Thank you Manders! I guess in this light, if our take on the truth doesn't match up then one of us will perceive it a lie.
